The 413 Foundation History
The 413 Foundation was set up by Dr. Albert E. Russell to honor his late wife, Dr. Tomeka D. Russell. The Foundation began as a simple idea so that Dr. Tomeka Russell's legacy would live on past her earthly time. The name is derived from the date of her passing, April 13th and also from Danielle's favorite scripture, Philippians 4:13 "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."
The 413 Foundation Mission
The 413 Foundation’s mission two fold:
To serve humanity through financial contributions to 1. Educational pursuits of African-American female undergraduate students with medical school aspirations [Dr. Tomeka D. Russell Scholarship Fund] 2. Academic cancer research groups [TDR413 Grants] and 3. Cancer advocacy groups [TDR413 Donations].
To serve humanity through: 1. Stimulating awareness in the African-American community regarding triple negative breast cancer 2. Disseminate information to benefit populations most affected by the disease 3. Provide access to resources for female veterans of the armed forces whose breast cancer is service connected.
